How hard is it to skimboard?
Skimboarding is easier to get started but harder to catch waves when compared to surfing. Most people can skim fairly easily on flat water but actually catching waves is difficult. Surfing is harder to learn in the beginning but easier to master over time. Both sports are very challenging if you want to get good.

What age can you start skimboarding?
Felecia: While some children can skimboard as young as 5, we find 7 to be the ideal age to start. But every child is different, so at camp we will access younger children to see if they can participate.
How do you care for a skimboard?
Never leave the board in a hot, enclosed vehicle or prolonged exposure to extreme heat source. When you’re not riding keep your board in a skimboard bag, in the shade, or under a towel. Any dings, cracks, or damages to the fiberglass must be repaired immediately with polyester resin and fiberglass.
