Frequent question: How do you set a wakeboard stance?

Is there a front and back to a wakeboard?

When wakeboarding, you stand perpendicularly on your board, with one foot in front and the other in the back. Riders who stand with their left foot in the front and their right foot in the back are known as regular. The stance is called “regular” because it is the most common position for wakeboarders.

Which way do you ride a wakeboard?

Regular riders will typically be right-footed and right-handed. Your strongest foot (right) will be at the back of the board, and your lead foot will be your left.

Where should your weight be when wakeboarding?

Correct Body Position

Your weight should be centered between both feet, and your knees should be slightly bent. Your shoulders and hips need to be lined up with the board. While holding the tow rope, your elbows should be straight and the handle should be in front of your hips between your knees.

Should your dominant foot be in front or back?

The aim is for your dominant foot to be in back. When snowboarding your dominant back foot will do most of the power steering, while your less dominant front foot will be for balance and direction.
