Can you press scuba fabric?
Be sure to iron scuba on a low setting, this fabric will mark or even melt if iron too hot. The fabric is thick, so extra attention to pressing will give the best results.
What needle do you use for neoprene?
Insert a 16/100 jean/denim needle into the needle casing. Smaller, weaker needles will cause tangles and break during stitching because they are not sharp enough to pierce through the layers of neoprene. Wind two or three bobbins and thread your machine with 100% polyester or heavy-duty nylon thread.
What can you sew with scuba fabric?
Scuba is generally used to make dance-wear, leggings and dresses (think of evening or party dresses) and is quite easy to care for. When sewing scuba, we would recommend using larger stitches than you may normally do so, to account for both the stretch and the ‘spongey’ texture of the fabric.

Do you hem scuba fabric?
Because scuba knit does not unravel, you can leave the edges raw at the end of the project, and leave the seams and hems unfinished as well. However, you may find that the edges look nicer when finished, depending on the pattern you’re using. A bias bound hem works particularly well with scuba fabric projects.
